Hi everyone,
 
Been a long time since I posted here - I did my research, tried a few cans, ended up buying some PK1s, and have been happy ever since. UNTIL recently, I managed to break the cables for my PK1s, and then the wires split.
 
I was thinking of trying a set of Fischer DBA-02s but I really prefer the earbuds to canalphones. I've had a set of canalphones in the past and didn't like them.
 
So, I've decided I'd like to DIY and replace the cables on the PK1s.
I used to own a set of DT880s that were recabled with Cardas and they sounded magnificent.
However, those cables would be far to large and bulky for my 'buds.
 
Any recommendations for some good cable to re-cable these? I'd be interested in headphone-specific cable OR speaker cable that has good sonic characteristics that could match the PK1 well.

when i recabled my pk-1 buds i used i think around 30 gauge wire (spofhc from fleabay). the buds really suck to open, and they are not warrantied if you mess up, so you might think about trying to cut the wire and solder onto it instead of opening up the buds and soldering directly onto the speakers
