I've had my Sony MDR CD3K for years now and remain very pleased with them. But the pads are a problem now. I've always taken good care of these headphones, stored 'em in the case, with a good microfiber cloth between the pads, those bags of silica gel because of humidity, etc... but even that way, the pads are now flaking, losing bits, as if they are cut. Seen this happen with lots of Sony pads in other models...

Any ideas where I can get replacement pads (preferably here in Europe, I'm in Lisbon) at a fair price? I hope they're not as pricey as the CD3K were.

I hope they're not hard to replace, last time I tried to "fix" something I ended up trashing my E888s !

Sony used to sell them cheaper. Try contacting them..

Yeah I tried searching for the part on their site with the specific part code, but no entry, I guess I'll just phone them up.

I also saw a used CD3000, go for $530 on ebay, so being that they are not in production anymore, could justify the price for the pads!

You can email Sony inquiries about parts directly but their prices aren't necessarily better than AudioCubes.

Not to hijack a thread, but I noticed that they show two headband part #s here: http://www.partstore.com/ModelDetail...lose=0&exact=1

A4540109A vs A4540110A

From the parts/service bulletin it show that the headband as a whole with the part # A4540110A, but no mention of A4540109A. Does anyone know which is what?
