The S Mod is on the website now. Vinnie has been posting about it on the AK100 thread in Portable Sources

Sasaki-san, I noticed from your blogsite you have the new AK100MkII. Do you have any comparisons between the AK100MkII and the RWAK100 please?

Cheers!

I no longer have RWAK100(changed to -S) . If my memory serves, RWAK100 is more transparent over entire frequency and the bass response is similar. However AK100MK2 Sounding signature is more close to AK120. (I am saying sonic signature is close and not talking details.)

BTW AK100MK2 is Japan limited model.

Oh! I didn't know the AK100MkII is Japan-only! I should have used a translator.

Thank you for sharing!

Yes, I live in Tokyo - you know me actually :).

Does that mean the RWAK is still better overall in terms of clarity, details, transparency, soundstage, etc?
While the MK2 sound signature is just different and similar to AK120?

clarity, transparency yes but details no, it's the same as far as I remember. Details could be sharper on RWAK100 but I can not compare now.
MK2 sound signature is just different and similar to AK120 - yes.

thanks for the info!
btw does the MK2 supports english in the UI?

Hello,

Should we use an external amp when we listen to an iem on rwak100?

Thanks

Depends on which IEM but for almost all IEMs I had, no external amp required.
