So I got my SR850's while I am re-cabling my ATH-M50's they just got here so they haven't gotten a chance to burn in but on my first listen I went from eager to shocked from what I heard and not in a good way.

Now I know they're not going to sound as good as my M50's but HOLY CRAP these things are REALLLLY hurting my ears, they sound screechy by comparison, the the bass sound's weak the mid's are non existent and high's really are painful and over exaggerated.

My sources are all FLAC files and I am running them through a Xonar DG with the integrated headphone amp.

Did I get a lemon? has anyone else experienced this issue with them? anyone know how much of this would even out after a burn in?

Burning them in for 20 hours to see if anything has changed.

The highs are still excruciatingly hissy and harsh although everything else has balanced out, it all gets drowned out by sounds comparable to someone spraying canned air in your ear.
