So any comparisons between the two? Both are R2R and unbalanced.
The schiit sells for $600 and the dac-19 is $800

Looks like the DAC-19 has dual DAC chips and I believe the Bifrost only has one :frowning2:

The DAC-19 comes with extra features like BNC input and balanced output, do you even a need for those features (assuming not)?

Actually my gustard h10 unbalanced has xlr inputs, is there any advantages in using xlr interconnects vs rca for unbalanced?

Technically a balanced connection is better then an un-balanced connection.
But will there be a noticeable improvement?

I know a balanced connection does help when your using long cables, but I'm assuming you could be using a short  6" or 12" cable for the balanced connection between the DAC-19 and the Gustard.
I'm just not knowledgeable enough about XLR to say it's worth it, for your use.
I do like to push Audi-GD products, I've bought two DAC/amps from Audio-GD and liked them.

Im quite inclined with the dac-19 now, but how does the audio gd-nfb 28 compare? Its cheaper, has a powerful balanced amp+dac with a really good sabre implementation.

The DAC-19 uses dual DAC chips, while the NFB-28 only uses one DAC chip.

I would say to consider getting the NFB-28 and sell off the Gustard.

The DAC-19 has to have two DAC chips because the PCM1704UK chip is mono only and the NFB-28 is a Sabre ES9018 chip that has up to eight channels. The PCM1704UK is a very good chip also.
