I have been helping local folks with audio and just picked up this album. I have the CD version as well. I could stream it or play it from my music collection on hard drive but prefer the first two medias. It is one of the main recordings I use to demo my system. Thanks Tom! I struggled with a weird channel balance issue. and discovered one the the 6SN7's was badly microphonic. Even though they were out of warranty by the time I completed the amp, the supplier was gracious enough to swap out the pair after I offered to pay shipping both ways. This along with some solder touch-up solved the problem.
It's really fun listening now to both systems, the SS system is huge, lush and powerful. After getting everything connected on the 4th, I decided to spin up Rush Moving Pictures; first on the Apogees, then on the SET amp. WOW - that little guy totally nailed it ......
Thanks again for the inspiration
A great recording: musically & sonicallyI have been helping local folks with audio and just picked up this album. I have the CD version as well. Wow! Your new amp and speakers turned out great, beautiful!I also have the original Pi2AES running Ropieee , currently using XLR into a Yggy GS (A1 boards - no upgrades). I've tried USB directly from the Mac Roon server, and the USB from the Pi2AES, and just prefer XLR. For what it's worth the Pi2AES has been dead solid stable and reliable. If I ever need another Roon endpoint, I'll get another ....
I have 2 systems now in the same listening space, Yggy Balanced -> Freya S -> Mono Vidars -> Apogee Duetta Sigs and Yggy SE -> my own 300B SET Amp -> my own fullrange 1/4 wave TL speakers. I finally got around to ebonizing the oak wrap on the speakers, and put them back into the system on the 4th. After some listening, I discovered absolute phase on the TL's was backassward; a quick change of the phase switch on the Yggy took care of that - I was VERY surprised at the difference, not subtle at all. On a whim, I switched Roon to Mac connected USB to Yggy, and retried phase; difference was there but less apparent.

I can fry an egg on my Loki Mini+
I guess if it tames the 8kHz sibilance on my 770's, all is good(?)
Fry an egg? No, but it is warm. Maybe @Jason Stoddard could explain why it runs so warm.
My chain is currently a Pro-Ject turntable I modified, to a Cary tube phono preamp, then on to a PrimaLuna EVO 400, then Sonus Faber speakers and REL subs. I am currently cleaning all new records before I play them, I have a half dozen going through the process right now.I really enjoyed this LP last weekend when I had the house to myself with Mani 2, Saga OG, and JBL monitors
My Loki Mini + has been on for a couple of hours and is warm at best. I can leave my hand on it without a problem. Hot enough to fry an egg could mean there's a problem.I had a LOKI mini and presently have a LOKIUS. They can get warm (especially during the summertime, but hot enough to fry an egg on?)
The Asgard 2's I have get hot enough to fry an egg on, but they're pure Class A bias amplifiers. If your LOKI+ is getting that hot I would call
Schiit customer service and see what they say.
