What do all of you think about the Sennheiser HD445 headphones? Does anyone own them? Or has anyone ever heard them? Also, are the cables the same as those on the HD580 and HD600? They kind of look like it. I was just wondering.

Can't say that i've ever heard of them??

Are they new, or from an older vintage?

Not sure. I think they might be older, but I was thinking more about the cable that comes with them. It looks to be the same as on the 580's and 600's. And for 14 bucks, I might just get them and make some DIY cables.

quite likely...

I have a pair of HD480s that seem to use the same cabling

Just out of interest - How does the HD480-II compare to your other phones, especially the HD565 ? Do they stack up to the "new" lines of Sennheiser (since they decided to discontinue it, along with many other of their phones)

The HD445 look a lot like the same design of the present HD433, and I really suspect the performance to be equal in most aspects.

Though, the THD is rated at 0,9% @ 1 kHz

About the cables... doubtable, as the replacement cable doesn't say HD-445/HD-580/HD-600 replacement cable, as it typically would, if it was supported.

Just put together a set of 445s today. Much more bass that the 433s probably just a bit better balanced but the 433s still sound more articulate and have more air about them.
