How about the Auris H2 SE. It is beautifully made and sounded glorious with a range of dynamic headphones when I heard it at CJ London. I would have got one if I didn't already have an ss amp of equal merit.

I would say the Mojo is powerful enough, but the HD 800 sounds better with better quality equipment. I find the soundstage quite limited on the Chord Mojo and I find the Chord Mojo a bit harsh sounding at times (which is not good for headphones like the HD 800).

If you can afford it, I find the Hugo 2 + HD 800 S pairing nicer. But if you don't mind using an EQ, the Hugo 2 + HD 800 is also nice.

thanks for the reply and sorry for the late answer. unfortunately the Hugo 2 is a bit too much for my budget right now, as I am getting the new cans and the amp as a graduation gift. got the Aune X1s 6th edition (10th anniversary). Since it gives out 200mw its more than enough to drive the hd800. so far i am quite satisfied with it. i have the feeling the aune is a pretty good bang for buck

Not sure what it retails for outside of the UK so you are possibly right. In which case try http://feliksaudio.pl/en/products.php as they have a fabulous range of valve powered headphone amp and which are at much lower prices than I expected when I heard them. Not as pretty as the Auris but you can get a custom made amp to your requirements and they were good sounding amps via Kennerton headphones.

Figured I'd drop this here too, I just got a silver cable for my HD 800 and right off the bat I noticed better definition in the bass and else where! For those of you still using the Stock cable with your HD 800S I strongly encourage you guys to upgrade to silver! @teds headfood did a phenomenal job! The new cable looks just as good as it sounds

Hi guys, I am looking to get dana cables for this but still on the fence. I was wonderin if there's anyone using it with their HD800S, does it add thickness to the sound? I wanted a little more thickness on the midrange and a bit more quantity on the bass. It sounds a bit thin to me hoping a cable upgrade could improve it a little more.

I'm new to this thread, but I recently heard an HD 800S at a store and was very impressed.
This is also very interesting considering that I've owned an HD 800 a total of 3 TIMES! (Yes, I feel a bit insane sometimes)

Regardless,
I have a Burson Soloist SL and Burson DA-160 as my setup.
Has anyone else heard this combo with the HD 800S?

I researched for best Dac amp for 800S ,I have Dx200 right now but don't want to use it .
Do you thinking best result in SQ and power ,which brand is ?
I Don't know tube amplifier better or Dac amp combo ,some people suggestion Dx200 connect tube amp is good ,but other prefer Dac amplifier combo
Please guide me ,my budget around 1500$.
Reading many review about Yulong ,ifi pro ,cayin,schiit.

If by chance you have any kind of possibilities to get yourself an Hugo2, AFAIK, that will be the last one you're going to invest on while using your Senns.

I spended time with HUGO2 without external amp around 10 days ,like SQ hugo2 but not like the power it can't full drive my HD800S ,
Iam looking for the best hugo2 in dac best but amp not in my opinion .

Hey, not a tube amp but check out the Violectric HPA V280 or the 281. I use a 280 with my HD800S and a dx200 as a source right now. Amazing sound from this combo. The amp is smooth with extended highs and lows with no harshness. The 280 is around $1700 but you can get 10% off right now. It really is worth looking into. Hope you find the sound you are looking for brother!

You could buy a Schiit Gungnir Multibit DAC and Mjolnir 2 amp and run balanced. The Mjolnir 2 is one of the better amps for HD800S if you use balanced mode. $2100 and you could be done for a few years.

When using aune x7s out put XLR much better drive my HD800S soundstage holographic and bass very tight .
Sound quality in H2 better but not full drive highs and mid slighly harsh .
