This video is really, really funny! But it taps into some warranted cynicism. I'm and HD800 owner and I too get the immediate knee-jerk reaction to run out and upgrade. Then I have to calm down and find my inner sanity.Sure I'll upgrade, to a HD900 or HD1000, if you get my meaning. And heck, I still don't even own a planar magnetic yet. LCD-4 for 4K, there's always that.

The hoopla makes me think of the cop from the Simpsons, "move along people, nothing to see here".

For all of you prospective HD800 owners that never took the plunge, now's your time!

Funny, and maybe true, we'll find out soon enough.

If Senny had either called the new pair hd850(or whatever) Or had removed the old hd800 from the line no one would have heard from me. But naming both the same with an iphone 's' for the slightly better model is either dead honest or completely disingenious. Senny's more cynical than I am. I paid $1099.00 out the door for a new set of hd800's with warranty which I registered. After listening to then this last year they might be worth what I paid for them. Remember these headphones are just a teeny teeny pin prick of their sales. We should be grateful they bother with us. Too busy servicing the airline industry and the military. Bah!

It's not an iphone 's', it's a capital 'S' (for 'symmetrisch' = balanced). Personally, I view it more like the 'M' in 'BMW X6 M'. :)

Don't really see the cynicism aspect, sorry.

Old video - new subtitles... the one I saw was poking fun at grahics cards and I doubt that was the original mash-up

The HD800S should be interesting, but is it just S for Schwarz??

Due to the ease of confusion between HD-800s (plural of HD-800 original model) vs HD-800S (revised new version), I propose that we officially unofficially adopt the nickname of Schwarz for the new model.

e.g., "Using your Gumby, does the Schwarz sound any different than the HD-800?"

Where did people hear that the highs are smothered or somehow less? Sennheiser is saying that the highs are smoother and more extended.
