let's stop this nonsense
Still no word on a release date? I know the UK site indicates 'shipping may be delayed until June 15"

They must be very busy working on final tuning of a production model. I assume they don’t want to blow up this time and make sure everything..

I miss the old days, when I was unaware of the existence of a piece of gear until I saw it in a shop with a price tag on it.

Hah, me too! There are pros and cons though. This modern way is good as you can learn all about different aspects, designs, technology, the how, and the why on such products. You may be the people that wait and eager to see first impressions, or you may be impatient to find out for yourself. I know I am the later kind of person LOL. I can no longer wait, seriously!

I liked how you saw the actual product and could hear (demo) it within minutes of seeing it. You didn't need anything else.

Recently found the Pioneer se-monitor5 actually adopts the same reflect-and-absorb design philosophy as the HD 820 does.
A pic showing the inner structure from Pioneer site, clearly showing the diffuser (equal to the glass on HD 820) and the sub-chambers that absorb excess energy.

It seems that the sub chamber is ported to the outside world. So we do not have a fully closed design.

Thanks fore the link, i'm on a very old slow mobile. It says "headphone" click and swipe.
Very interesting pictures you have there! It looks like some serious thought was put into the headphones that you created.

I would like to know where the official inspiration came for the design of the HD 820, @Sennheiser?
