You can definitely use it like that via Bluetooth... But I'm not sure if it'll work with a direct connection... But i suppose it might just be possible

Yes you can use the M2s as USB DAC with an Android Phone via a OTG cable

Apps like Spotify, Tidal and Apple Music did work over the Bluetooth connection, so I think that it will work also via USB connection, without the need of usb audio playr pro.
[Edit] I sold my M2s so I have not the chance to test it out.

My buddy and I streamed from Spotify this morning with his new Moto Z fed USB into the M2s and my APPJ PA 1502 with a SuperLux HD 668B!!!

The only issue is the App's EQ doesn't work with the USB dac, but that's also the case with my GeekOut v2+, Behring UCA 202 ect... ect... it's pretty standard

Yea the Shanling m2s comes with a USB A to Type C cable, I just use an Amazong Basic usb C to Female A to make a C to C Cable
