and if there are any better headphones for around $150-$170 then the two i listed then please let me know. also i might be considering the sennheiser hd 598s
 
the music i listen to are different kinds of metal, dance/trance/techno, regina specktor, and bach.

X2  But if looking primarily for bass emphasis, you won't find it in the HD598. In all other areas, it surpasses the M50.

thanks ill proabably be getting the hd 598s then, just gota wait till friday as my dad will then give me half of the money to buy it as we will be sharing them.

Yeah but it's the wrong kind of bass for electronic/techno.  I think the HFI580 makes more sense than the M50 in this case.  So 580/558/598 would be the ones to choose from for me.

thanks everyone, just one more question. is either of these sites (links below) reliable to buy the 598s from? there the cheapest i found so far.  and if not i can get them from an authorized dealer refurbished for $ 187.
