How do you like the MDR-Z1R? I am very curious about these headphone. I don't have a closed back set. I'm concerned that they may be too big for my head. Even at the smallest headband setting. I had that issue with the Sony MDR-1A I had a bunch of years ago. I had that issue with some other headphones as well over the years.z1r+wa7 superb!

Only if you are a child. You can see in the picture how much space they leave for a smaller head. I am at number 4 mark; this is probably 7-8.How do you like the MDR-Z1R? My wife has a small head, and she has no problem wearing them.
If you asked me...I would say they are very special headphones, at least for me!
Cheers!
Next few months are all about amp comparisons. I already have a favorite between the two and it's been only a few days but everything is temporary as I wait for the Mass Kobo 465 to arrive for the ultimate shootout.

wow that riviera is huge! Really looking forward to reading your comments on the 3 TOTL amps! amazing setup dude.
Riviera is about the size of your WA33 but turned sideways and without the tubes. It's a really weird design choice and one of my main two gripes with it (the other being lack of preamp).wow that riviera is huge! one of the best , at least for me , the sound signature ( if you like bassy headphones) the comfort, As I always tell my friends, the best way to understand is to try it for yourself.¿Qué te parece el MDR-Z1R?

every once in awhile i get the urge to play cd's. sounds so much better then streaming
@judomaniak57 I love the look of your setup, every time you post it. Clean, simple, perfect taste, must sound amazing and give a lot of joy One can tell you can focus on music instead on tweaking constantly and endlessly your setup. Congrats mate!every once in awhile i get the urge to play cd's. sounds so much better then streaming
As far as CDs are concerned, I do prefer them as the media. Streaming is still problematic, does not work without glitches, needs network infrastructure and you never own the music you like. Additionally there is something magical about spinning the silver discs, just like with vinyl, just that CDs are more hassle free. Last but not least when you are putting in CD into your transport you listen to the whole album instead of skipping tracks which gives a completly different feeling and lets you focus on the music instead on managing your players queue on tablet screen.

thanks for the complement. yeh part of my problem with streaming is i listen at most to 2 tracks and switch albums and genres and pop all over the place.last night i played several whole albums and just relaxed.streaming is great for finding new music but cd played thru my dac sound way better.Last but not least when you are putting in CD into your transport you listen to the whole album instead of skipping tracks which gives a completly different feeling and lets you focus on the music instead on managing your players queue on tablet screen.

You guys complaining about streaming quality: get a better streaming service. I use Amazon Music HD, which sends me lossless FLACs, and sound great over my USB DAC.

Man alive, Jonathan. Don't you know there's starving Head-Fi-ers out here with only one amp. Save something for the rest of us
