That works GREAT to retune an iem with hot parts of the FR. I've done it myself, totally legit. I wanted to say, 'retuning' a custom means ripping it apart and reshelling, THAT is the cost, not the retuning. It's all done by hand. This is their standard reshell price.

Thanks Archigius,
But these go on BEFORE you put a tip on, right? I am not using any tips.
Thanks Redrol,
Joseph explained that to me. And I can certainly see that for iems in the $100 to $500 range. At $655 I thought there would be a little more customer service.
God Bless

Exactly, before you put the tip and it's the same if you're not using tips.
Obviously, if the iem is too far away from someone's taste, better to change model, but if it's just small adjustments, it works very good.
There are 6 levels of tuning papers, I've no idea how much any increment can reduce the sound pressure, I guess 1 dB each level maybe?
To my ears, the Y2 on my S8 cuts about a couple dB. You can have a similar effect with eq, but tuning papers are more consistent when you increase volume, while with eq I noticed that if you increase volume, you have to change your eq settings.

The kinda lava does a thing that I think might put it over the 07m for myself. Lets have a look:
The yellow circled part should mean the Lava has a bit more forgiveness for transients and I prefer 5-8k dipped not bumped. Then we pop back up at 8k. In my estimation it might be closer to the OG EJ than 07m in some respects. Very nice!

Came to this late but honestly, it just looks like the mic is closer to one than the other and shifting the standing wave length.

anyone have the original 07 and comparing it to 07m? Can you tell me the SQ difference?

As @redrol explained, the 07m is move V-Shaped. The 07 mids are more enphasyzed and the tuning is more balanced overall.

I would say 07 stage is better but the 07m have a hair more detail due to treble boost. I prefer the EJ07 and also that resin shell is just plain love, where the 07m metal one can be a pain to deal with, depending on the person's ears.

Anyone else using the Lava off of a tube amp, or I just bought a Loxjie P20 and a Xduoo Mt-604 and the Mt-604 makes theese things magical. Bass is fantastic and sooooooo smooth now.

I was reading above about the the Lava vs EJ07M and I am starting to enjoy the tuning of the Lava . With the HiBy MSEB and the tube amp so perfect for me! 😃

Well Gentlemen and Ladies, I went back and edited, downgraded my evaluation of the Custom EJ07M KL.
That is back on page 245.
I recommend for those in the custom market, the Eartech Music Quad or Hex. Although they are only all b/a units, not as sexy as tribrids, they just sound quite a bit better. More musical. In old terms I would say they sound more like analog music where the Shuoer sound digital and have treble glare. And don't play as deep a bass as advertised. I played a 20 Hz test tone and could barely hear it.
God Bless,
Wayne

Something is off, both my 07m and 07 play 20hz well. Just making that point.
I will second that with EJ07M Lava also has viable low sub bass not that much music even has energy in that range.

I am glad Wayne has found something that he likes not everyone hears things the same and all our ears are different shapes. Happy for ya Bro!

I for one am happy on the EJ07M KL Train.
