One big positive is I keep thinking I'm wearing open backs I pressed my hands against the outside of the cups a bit to make sure I had a proper seal and it still sounds open
Edit: Also a Korean streamer I'm watching now just lip synced Welcome to the Black Parade for some reason, and not going to lie it sounded amazing.

That is one of the reasons why I can't wait for when he releases the open back version of the SN. I am definitely going to buy one once they go on sale.

- picture from sjyaudio website (notice the number scale difference from Crin's website I had to roughly adjust for that when drawing over the HE6SEV2 graph)
Me using my terrible drawing skills to then realize I read the graph on the SJY website wrong because I wasn't paying enough attention to the number scale vs Crin's site. If I put it to 100 digital volume I listen at what I would say is 20%-50% depending on song (fan favorite Hans Zimmer tracks are weirdly quiet compared to pop songs) on high gain (EF400), and that is loud enough for me with 0 pre amp. I'm not getting sibilance unless the track has it on purpose so far.

at 1:50 which voice is louder for you? With these headphones Floor is clearly louder, but I'm still hearing Henk just fine.

I would like more bass buildup here from 0:29 (I prefer more bass usually unless I am really trying to focus on other parts of the song).

from 35 seconds knocks are accurate for this test.

I still don't think there is any headphone in this price range that I know of that looks better (cup wise) and these sound good too. These headphones are really good for kpop/jpop actually if that is your thing because of the way the songs are mastered and all the upper mids and treble being up there (anime edition Starry Night when?). If someone wants me to test something let me know

I think it comes down to the variation in source gear. In the first track I only hear a very slight difference between the two, but that might just come down to the distance the two singers keep their mics from their faces ( I notice this in a lot of live recordings). Then as far as bass goes in the 2nd track I am getting plenty when running SN off of my Gjallarhorn (even more so than the Soloist 3XP in poweramp mode). Bifrost 2/64>Topping L70>Gjallarhorn

EF400 is audibly transparent up to 15K in OS and then YouTube doesn't do over 15K anyways. Sounds the same using FiiO KA5 for me. So if you have a chain that is distorting or pushing the frequency range up or down then yeah it will sound different which alongside different ears could be very different experiences

Great impressions on the V2, I don't suppose you have any thoughts on how it compares to the XTC1.5?

I am downsizing my setup from my Verite Closed and looking for a whole rig under £1500. The Starry Night is certainly a good fit in the looks front.

The XTC1.5 I have is a 1 of 1 special edition so it's not in the same price range. It's the superior headphone to me though because it has the best bass I have heard in a headphone (outside of CRBN with EQ). Doesn't mean that the SN bass is lacking it's just that the XTC bass slams hard. The SN is more a treble head headphone and the XTC1.5 is more a bass head headphone in the tuning that I got.

Thanks, sounds like the SN isn't for me then as I am a bit of a bass lover. I had been considering the XTC² and then getting a Magni/Modi stack to power it. That would just about fit in my budget.

Headphone maker: I tuned this headphone to be the best I could. Me: Haha Harman go brrrrrrr
Did a quick EQ based off the measurements we have which should be close to Harman (not using filters for this one). If someone has a more accurate one please share, but this one should be good enough for the people who like the look and build of this headphone, but don't like the stock tuning as much as Harman.

I might have snagged the black stabilized that popped up this morning. I originally wanted to get a purple one, but the orange with the black looks so awesome.
Driving it should be no problem for me, lol.
I'm eagerly waiting.

THE STARRY NIGHT HAS ARRIVED!

First impressions are very positiv. It's a very good closed back planar. For me the sound signature is neutral to mid centric. The tonal balance is good. The biggest complain i have is that female vocals are sometimes slightly too forward for me, i think that's the aggressive pina gain / bump at 2k. Thankfully it's not extreme.
Comfort: perfect
Looks: perfect
Build quality: good
I will post a more detailed review in a few days, i think it really deserves it. I am very sure that Zeos will do a hype video about it soon, he showed a bunch of them right before going to Munich.
