Hi, I am thinking of getting new IEMs and SM64 seem like an interesting choice. However I read everywhere that they do need an amp. I have Sony PHA-1 and never use it because it's really too big for portable use.

Is there any amp (or DAC+amp) that is

1) Really small (ideally would be if it would be like an oversized remote control or could just sit on top of the phone).

2) Works with iPhone (either lightning port or headphone jack).

The JDS labs C5D is excellent for iem's as it has a very low output impedence, its also surprising small. Another popular option would be the audioquest dragonfly black/red

I would suggest considering a RSA Shadow.

Or this BT adapter for some IEMs. They might come out with one that terminates into other IEM pins.

Dragonfly seemed like the most likely choice tbh until i saw those FIIO remote-control-looking amps. I am sure C5D is a great device, but all these amp/dacs of conventional form factor just don't work for me - I try to have as little stuff as possible in my pockets and avoid carrying bags whenever possible.

I have the FiiO A1 and the portability is insane.  I don't really often require an amp since my phone is a V10, but when I do, the portability is a main factor.  It's a cheap and well built little thing that won't break the bank, but a good intro level to see where one might want to go from there.
