Hi,

I've just picked up a Sony DVP-S9000ES player without remote for audio only. I threw in a SACD and notice its not playing in SACD mode!

am i stuffed without a remote? does it need to be plugged to a tv for standard audio analogue out settings?

Is this a DVD player as well? Is there a key on the front face plate that lets you select SACD/CD layer?

Edit: Go to www.docs.sony.com/release/dvps9000es.pdf and look on page 21.....looks like you will need that remote to switch layers.

rumor has it there might be a trick?
