I have a Sony MUC-B30UM1 cable for my MDR-Z1R which I always use at my desk in a coil, because it's too long. I would like to cut in half in 2 and make 2 x 1.5m cables.

One for my HD800 (using the existing 6.3mm terminal and adding HD800 connectors) and one for the MDR-Z1R (keeping the existing 3.5 jacks and adding a 4.4mm termination).

Did anybody do this before? Anything to look out for?

I reterminated mine with mini xlr for Audeze/ZMF, but HD800 termination may be very difficult because of the wire gauge, and four wires to each connector.
