Coming from A50R FE, it's like having a different DAP.

Classic mode gives punchy bass, crispy high .

Then, Plus mode tames everything down, into a coherent, relaxing, musical pure bliss .

Yup, it is quite the upgrade - if only Sony knew what was in their hands - either they're clever with the hardware but lazy with the firmware - or, they're purposely nobbling their firmware down to aim at price points rather than up to a value proposition.
