I wasn't a huge fan of the sound of the WM1A/Z, but the Sony OS was excellent and it's a shame it's now legacy.

Wasn't expecting a power upgrade given limitations of the Sony amp, but perhaps Sony will finally implement an actual line out on these models so they can be paired with an external amp and thus used with headphones rather than just IEMs.

Hard to see these being competitive given forthcoming releases from Cayin as well as more powerful/versatile releases from FiiO et al., but the Sony brand does have an enduring allure for many.

Edit #2: It'll only available for demo at ConnectIT between 9 and 15 Feb. I guess they will have to send the demo sets to other shops. It's available for pre-order now & stock expected to arrive in April.

They juat slapped android and the rest is the same soecs…. Keeping my WM1A and DMO-Z1 for many years

Could they not have put two master chips in? One chip per channel? Maybe their chips are different from a typical DAC chip? Increase in power would have been nice.

How about streaming performance? Is there any difference between offline playback and audio/video streaming on the A100?

I don't stream so I wouldn't know.
It's also why I have no use for Android on my DAP because I'm not interested in streaming.

First impression is the layering and positioning is on another level. Power output and volume stepping feels about the same.

That's about GBP2800! Don't forget Hog Kong is a free port and has no VAT. So it must be over GBP3000 when it hits the shelf in the UK!
