These are both going cheap on amazon at the moment.
Both are dual balanced armature IEMs.
I have heard that the Denons distort at high volumes (I don't really go too high myself)
I'm looking to pick up one or the other next week.
Which would you choose and why?

Well to answer my own question, I forked out for the XBA 40s AND the denon ah-d400s and the ah-c300s and to make a long story boring, the ah 400s are in a different class to the others.
