Ok so I'm not sure if this belongs in Headphones (fullsize) so if it does it can be moved. My friend wants to buy some headphones that are over-ear, closed, bass heavy and isolation to him doesn't matter too much, but he would prefer if he could get it. He listens to rap and hip-hop. Price range is max 120. I don't really think he is looking for '"audiophile" type headphones, just ones that are good for his listening preferences. Im thinking maybe one of the lower numbered senn's would be good for him but I told him I would help so I figured I could get some suggestions.
So far he is looking at the:
Audio Technica ATH-ANC 7
Boomphone Phantom (Not really in his price range but he says the speaker feature makes it worth it.)

I'm not sure if either of those are good choices for him.

The Sennheiser HD-419 would be a great fit.  They are bass heavy, sealed, and measure quite good.

The Beats are way too bassy.

500 Hz Square Wave Response

Again the Beats fall short with poor square wave response seen as a big dip down in the square wave reproduction.

50 Hz Square Wave Response ( bass harmonics )

The Beats fall short showing some serious signs of poor signal reproduction in the bass.  See how the Beats' graph is does not peak high first then fall off?  That is a sign that the headphones is not producing the bass frequencies accurately.

Thank you very much. Do you know if there are fakes? I was looking around to find a better price and I found a pair on ebay for 37 bucks but I want to make sure they aren't fake before I give the link to my friend.

I think those linked headphones are legit, but the are "factory refurbished" which is something I look out for.  I always go with new if I can afford it to get the warranty and absolute best sound with little to no hassle.
