I believe it's standard practice to shall we say massage the stated value of packages above certain thresholds. The shop I bought from, I requested it and they did it no problem. Arrived in UK yesterday after approx 2 weeks.

OK so I received these a few hours ago. Initial thoughts, I'm very impressed, they're understated, ludicrously comfortable and sound great. One significant caveat that might be helpful for some, my glasses effect the sound far more than any other headphone I've tried. The arms are relatively flush to my head yet pretty much wreck the bass. I suppose I could change the pads but they're so comfy it would seem a shame.

It's fairly easy to predict which headphones will be affected the most by glasses - headphones that have strong sub-bass and isolate well depend greatly on the good seal, and will be affected most.
Headphones with a drop in sub-bass and bad isolation will be less affected, as they probably don't have a good seal to begin with.

Would love to hear your more detailed impressions in a few days.

Thanks mate. I think it's exacerbated by the fact the pads are so soft and pliable. For instance my m30x are far less comfortable but more determined to return to their shape, so they wrap around the arm more closely.

I need to see so am going to reluctantly sell these. Shame because they tick every other box for me. So if anyone in the UK wants a pair for cheap, check ebay.

Anyway I've ordered some Beyerdynamic DT 240's. The idea being that the smaller cups will sort of intersect with glasses arms closer to my ear where the arm-head gap is at it's smallest. If any of that makes sense haha. Should have a tighter clamp too apparently which I guess helps with this.

Bummer.
If glasses would stand between me and audio heaven, I would have either switched to contact lenses or had lasik eye surgery.
Music plays too important role in my life, I would have gone insane at work long time ago without my music.

The 11.11 sale on Aliexpress is coming up - and you can grab some crazy coupons!
On the homepage click on "Grab Coupons" (works in both browser and mobile app):

If you don't see this option in the mobile app, your app must be outdated.
You should see two coupons - 20$ off 50$ and 5$ off 10$:

They become available every few hours.
You should try getting the 5$ off 10$ - the 20$ coupon runs out in milliseconds.

This thread is the thread that keeps on giving.
Brilliant mods thnx @sov73811

And thank you! Sorry it's so late as I've been pretty busy...paying bills without a job (it sucks) and then trying to somehow squeeze in a marathon of a game that is Trails of Cold Steel 3 (when not asking myself what I'm doing with my life). Okay, enough of the existential crisis ranting, I'M HERE TO TALK HEADPHONES!

There was one little issue I had with the mod though but mostly because of me being stupid...

20191021_194239.jpg

You probably can see the issue right away...that negative wire was bare. No plastic at all surrounding it. I was cooking dinner in between playing Cold Steel 3 on my PS4. I'd put the headphones face down on the table, go stir in the next ingredients and such, come back and pick up the headphones. Then my Topping amp would spaz out and for a split second switch back to my PC USB output and then back to the optical input (PS4). I know this because I'd see 192KHz flash very quickly on the screen and then it'd go back to 48KHz followed by "OPT". So weird. I had some silver-plated cable laying around for some random cable I was going to mess around with (Mrspeakers Aeon maybe? I don't remember) so I used that.

IMG_0132.JPG

And the problem has never come back. Weird. Also, I could be imagining it but with this, the Pro 82 has just a tad more...transparency? It's just a very very little bit easier to pick out sounds than before. I haven't gone A/B-ing my other V2 yet but that could be slightly problematic since different cables are needed between my stock V2 and my Pixy P82. And I'm sure Ben already stated this somewhere in this thread but yes, these drivers can be affected by your cable. I was using this Sukira cable: https://www.amazon.com/AH-D600-AH-D7200-AH-D7100-Classics-headphones/dp/B075CJLR9S and then for no good reason I picked this cheapo cable awhile back https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y6NF4SX (will need to add extra stress relief later, lol) and this cheapo $20 cable made the sound stage...better? Okay. I did A/B that a lot and no doubt the Sukira cable made the sound feel more congested. To fairly test if the Silver cables make a difference inside the cups, I'd need another stock V2 Pro 82 - or mod another one! Good thing that 11/11 sale is just about to happen. So hopefully soon we'll find out together if I either "unlocked the full power of the Pro 82" or I'm chasing wild geese.

Aw man, I'm sorry it's not working out for you. It's also a pity that those fabric Brainwavz MDR V6 pads are strangely OOS on Amazon right now because I think those could possibly fix your issue with the glasses. Yeah, I have glasses too but I main contacts. Unfortunately my frames are very light and thin. I'm sure head shape and ear positions have something to do with it too. I put these glasses on and with those fabric pads and the seal was estimated 97% intact.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FSPNJH6 Any of those should keep the sound signature intact (see this post here on how: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/tak...scussion-thread.849965/page-200#post-15196278). But yeah, please don't feel like I'm pressuring you into anything; your head is certainly different from mine!

One last thing to add...in between cooking and playing games, I make sure to keep my hands clean so my gear stays clean too.

Codes are case-sensitive!

You can use these promo codes combined with Select Coupons and store coupons, but not with regular Aliexpress coupons.
Each code can be used only once per account, after that you will receive this error:
upload_2019-11-11_19-51-51.png

This doesn't mean that the promo code has expired - only that you can't use it again (unless you haven't used it yet - then it means that the code has expired).
Important - just like Aliexpress coupons, these codes can be used on combined order - you can order a 30$ item from one store, and 30$ item from another store - you will be able to use the 8$ off 60$ coupon.

You can purchase the only Pro 82 "synergy" combo still available for sale (not that SMSL Idea is off the shelves):
Little Bear P10 for 54.5$ ( or 47.5$ after the "7$ off 50$" code) - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32882901310.html
+
ELE EL-D01 for 15$ (13$ after your "2$ off 10$" coupon) - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32846934366.html

Or you can stock on a great amp/dac that works equally well with both Pro 82 and GM200:
SMSL IQ at the lowest price ever - 94.5$ (86.5$ after the "8$ off 60$" code) - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32847472836.htm

More info on the above DACs/Amps here - https://www.head-fi.org/threads/tak...discussion-thread.849965/page-5#post-13501419

And of course:
Guaranteed Pro 82 v2 for 56.35$ (or 49.35$ after the "7$ off 50$" code) - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32808454492.html
GM200 for 60$ (52$ after the "8$ off 60$" code) - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33012705103.html
If you don't have any coupons or the codes stopped working, you can get 5$ off GM200 by placing order without paying and messaging the seller with the "head-fi" code - she will adjust the price 5$.
This can't be used together with promo codes/coupons - they are always removed if a seller adjust the price.

Some comparison of frequency response between Pro 82 v2, GM200 and the 1700$ Fostex TH900 MK2:
