The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread

Well Sony MDR-SA3000 frequency range is 8Hz - 100kHz which is insane.
I know that frequencies above 50kHz can't be heard anyway, so they are just here for the "wow" moment, K712 Pro's are from 10Hz-40kHz.
Sony also has 50mm drivers.

K712 has more linear and extended bass, much lower distortion across the whole spectrum, especially in the bass and lower midrange, and less peaky treble. Overall K712 has a significantly more neutral response and it's a clear step up in terms of fidelity.

Can't say if you'll enjoy it more than SA3000, but it's a much better performer technically speaking.

@Spc0
as far as I know from the head-fi Vienna group - the K712 you would be the better way!
Don't  let yourself be blinded for specs only.

I compared K712, K812, K872 too - for this money, the K712 is a great headphone.

Now, if I write this, I hear music with K712!

Yes, the 712 is a great headphone.

I just got a Mojo and the 712 is now blissfully good.

Yea it has very good price, 219€.

Agreed, and after reaching 70hours, I confirm the quality. The bass is not boosted but extended.
After 70 hours(14hours each day) it is as good if not better than my beloved HD650.
Fresh from the box it sounded flat and the bass like something was missing.
My HD650 has had no change from day one, unlike the k712.

I am using the Mojo as well. I haven't found anything better yet. Also just got the K712. Having a little trouble trying to find any difference between these and my Senn HD600 and 650. All three almost sound the same. Mids are the only difference I can see. Acoustic guitar is better on the AKG.

Yea i see now, 3D view on right side there's a sticker, Made in Slovakia (EU).
I think slovakia is still way better than china.

I don't think the 712 has ever been made in China.

Mine is coming in a few hours, hope I've done the right thing after leaving behind X2 and HD700 for comfort issues.

I've bought mine 2 weeks ago at Thomann.de and they are Made in Slovakia. For people that don't know geography, capital city of Austria Wienna is just 79 kilometres away from capital city of Slovakia Bratislava. I've also asked on AKG technical support what means Made in Slovakia and they wrote me that capsules (probably drivers) are still Made in Austria.
