After @Richsvt posted his legacy stack and everyone chatting about it…. I was like, wait a second, I stack now with my current DAP and transportable amp. So stacking isn’t dead! Great stack by the way.

That is a sweet stack, indeed. I am jelly.

+1= Fiio X3ii
I loved the old FiiO stuff. Had nearly every X3 and X5. Wish I kept the X3ii and X5. Those were great units. I'm chasing R-2R stuff now with the RU6, so I guess I still have a 'stack' of sorts.

Should I keep Tom's Fiio X5 III? Already keeping his dx200. I already have an Onkyo and an Opus as my best daps but my most used has been my dx120.

Despite what some say, I liked the sound of the X5iii. The OS was a little goofy but had some good sounds. Besides, the resale value is for garbage right now. Better to keep it and relish in its antiquity.

Oohh an X5, the display looks so nice on them. And I've heard the sound is really balanced and natural. Also, have you heard? Onkyo has gone bankrupt.

Yeah, my favourite part about the OS was how every time you started it, it said "Born for Music and Happy" lol.

Shuffled By the iPod The iPod is leaving the market, which means that now’s as good a time as any to consider the many audio players it vanquished along the way.

Apple just killed off the iPod putting an end to an era. Are DAPs dead or have we begun a new era of portable audio?

If you asked the average person on the street about the status of the Apple iPod, most would probably reply that Apple killed it off many years ago; the reality is that Apple pulled the plug on everything but the iPod Touch (which will run out soon) earlier this week. It has also been a week of news in regard to DAPs from brands like FiiO which just announced that they were discontinuing all models below $600 USD.
