Its definetely more unique to see the wire come from the magnet itself!

Then again it could be more common than expected.

Btw are you still using the original rubber pads on them?
A wire made from a magnet is shielding. The wire looked like this in the picture

Yes, while the original rubber pads are still in place, listening for more than 3-4 hours is painful for the ear cartilage. Nowadays it is difficult to find original leather pads

Also Thomann should still have the leather pads

Leather would be nice, but it's pleather or vinyl type... weird pads overall those dt48 S... and in general over ear is more comfortable at cost of the sound.

IME, on -ear pads (not the rubber ones) have resulted in the best sound.

Also, creating a bass port + on ears so far have given more natural sound otherwise too closed in

I have seen some with custom backplates. Or you drill a bassport. Easiest way is to remove screw and glue the backplate on.

Reading pro gear threads comparing these to mdr-7506, and the 7506 being favored bothers me XD
