unlike many cans, I prefer to not fiddle with EQ to either 880
Interesting. I'm the same: I throw an EQ on all my headphones except the 880/600.

Me. My first decent headphones were the big green Koss Pros around 72 or 73.You, or your cans ???
Were YOU mfg'd or released in '52, or do you have a CAN mfg'd or released in '52 ? I guess there could be a running 9-month technicality sewn in somewhere . . . .Manufacturing date, or production release? Don't make me explain the difference.
Good point. Released in October of 52. One can do the math for a manufacturing month. Were YOU mfg'd or released in '52, or do you have a CAN mfg'd or released in '52 ? I guess there could be a running 9-month technicality sewn in somewhere . . . .
HEY ! Missed your earlier post - ya, Pros ruled stateside in Seventies, for sure. Essentially weren't challenged here until the HD414 weaseled its way into our market. And the Pros were indestructible, to boot.Me. My first decent headphones were the big green Koss Pros around 72 or 73.
Don't know if anyone will respond to you, but I've had a 600Ω'er since '81, and it's a fabulous can. I can also tell you that the yoke/headband stuff is all pretty fragile compared to many other cans' structure. The one in this picture looks super - in case you just threw a nice image up to illustrate your find, the soft "band" that rests on top of your head is one I've replaced 3 times, so far. This can is very light, but isn't one I'd recommend for commuting or jogging - just staying in one place to enjoy music. Having tried numerous replacement pads, I strongly recommend pony'ng up for EDT 550 S pads (if you can find) or newer EDT 770 S/SG. Other pads I tried skew the freq band somehow, but there are now many cheap Chinese pads on the market that are likely worth a try.
Hi everyone again, I got a DT 880 now too (Currently it has my Superlux's old pads on it because the old ones stink, I will replace them)
Does anyone know if the newer style headband (pictured below) could fit my older DT 880 and perhaps be more comfortable?
Just a thought before I order replacement pads for it.
Also one more question, how do I remove the cable's "mouldy / dusty" smell?
