I'd image the official one CKS-NWA100 Sold in all the matching colours
Waiting for a lower price before I buy or see if something nicer.
That's pretty nice looking, I'd rather not have a flip case though. If you're buying a case you must consider this a keeper

I'd like double battery life but wouldn't we all with all DAP's. It just sounds so awesome with SE846's, even low detail mp3's & Spotify.
They should have added 2mm to thickness charged a bit more and put in a larger battery. Its fine offline but streaming life not so good but most aren't anyway.

Does anyone know what the actual Dac chip Sony is using is ? I know they have some custom engineering that they talk about (isolated sound engine, film resistors, gold solder etc) but I was wondering what it actually is.

I didn't actually like it or the retro writing on the back of the A105, plus price premium is mad (and I wanted the Red)

I believe its their own custom chip? S-master HX™ (or is that just the Amp)

That's cool. It's a big nostalgia thing for me since I lived through the eras of the first walkman and had the original player a long time ago. Plus Guardians of the Galaxy
Just the feel of the case is nice, I assume their other soft cases feel that good.

It's an FPGA based solution ? It kind of sounds like it is. S-Master HX refers to the amp circuitry I think. It's got some features I recognize from the TA-ZH1ES.

Agree 100% re. thickness.
I read that the new MBP 16 inch is slightly thicker to accommodate a larger battery - something that would never have happened at Apple while Johnny Ive was still in charge of design. Look at the chaos the "butterfly" keyboard has also caused in the quest for absolute thinness.
I'd gladly have taken another 2mm for a larger battery, you could quite possibly double the available mAh with that amount of additional volumetric space.

If I'm being cynical I'd say they don't give us too much battery as once its ~ 2 year old and battery has diminished somewhat we get annoyed with less battery life so upgrade again!
What's bad is the £750 ZX507 actually has less battery life ! In a body that size I can't believe they couldn't double the battery life.
The SE on the A105 sounds as good to me as any of the DAP's I've used Balanced (ZX300, M11, R5, X5III) with my SE846. When I had Sen HD800 & HD660S those definitely benefited from balanced.
Still can't beat listening to my KEF LSX & KEF Kube 8b sub at home in my tiny 2m x 2.6m media/gaming room.
Spot the A105 Nice to get the feet up in my "Man-Cave" after work.

hd800 can act as a speaker in that room
Sadly no cutout for the tape reel animation eh?I'd image the official one CKS-NWA100 Sold in all the matching colours

Well iPhone 5 has 1440 mah battery and it has smaller outer form factor than that. Plus only a bit over 1 hour to charge, yeap it should be pretty small. If I'm being cynical I'd say they don't give us too much battery as once its ~ 2 year old and battery has diminished somewhat we get annoyed with less battery life so upgrade again!

Posted pic above. Now those LSX ARE the best audio I've ever bought (even without the Sub) for music playback.

Ok got a surprise, and I'm frankly astonished at the clarity of the sound. I just compared it to my 'king' the dx160 and it sounds more 3 dimensional and sharper and more defined. I'm using direct sound.
And that's comparing the 4.4 balanced to the SE of the Sony. I didn't expect that at all. I'm gobsmacked at how this little thing can put out such a full sound, it also sounds more detailed than zx300 to my ears.
Oh and the blue looks just like the one from the a45- very classy.
