Alright it's been a while since we've done any sort of survey. Now that we're 1/3 and two CanJams into 2024 what are the top 3-5 things on your radar right now?

1. 634ears LOAK TX-02 flagship from the Japanese maker, already ordered. 1DD and open back design.

2. Yellowstone, can't say brand yet but a new tribrid 1dd 4ba 4est model. With fancy design.

3. AüR Audio Aehta, new quadbrid with 2DD 2BC 4BA 2EST.

4. Symphonium Titan, Basshead set tuned similar to Fatfreq. Count me in

5. Campfire Audio Fathom, want more CFA. And im interested in trying a new BA model.

Didn’t get to attend CJ but…

1. Storm. It’s still on my radar. I made the mistake of passing on an excellent offer that will likely cost more money should I go down this rabbit hole. Having Trailii and full sized headphones that can nearly replicate the experience has held me back. And the cost.

2. Rhapsodio V3. Not one I would buy blind. But something different. I’m missing a single driver IEM or vocal specialist in my collection

3. Alter Ego. So many people have acclaimed this IEM. Some who have good ears. At least it’s more affordable. I’ve already placed an order.

4. Chasing a TWS that is better than the AirPods Pro gen2 that works well with iPhone and an IP rating. Have Audio technica TWX9 for now. Contemplating Svanar.

5. There’s always a prototype for the next best and greatest. An all rounder, preferably a hybrid with a DD that I can play State of Trance followed by Hans Zimmer and classical crossover. Suggestions welcome.

I’m probably going to fine tune my IEM chain so looking into a portable amp and just ordered an orpheus and OtL interconnect. And cables.

With the ramen analogy, there’s a restaurant where I live that does fresh truffle when it’s season. On ramen. Just saying.

1. Noir - most excited for this as I loved the Pilgrim, I just wish it was only called Noir. Will be a semi blind buy for me.

2. ET Romeo - loved the prototype, ready to hear the final.

3. EE Triton - very excited to try this from all the SG talk.

Some headphones require a significant investment to reach their potential eg. amplifier … and in my experience benefit from a cable upgrade.

But the easier to drive headphones out of a DAP / portable amplifier rival any IEM in the same tier. And no tip rolling required.

agreed. Which was my problem with some folks in here. Really didn't know much about this thread as I tended to focus on more specific threads on gear, for many years, and one of my first posts in the thread I got attacked personally for a simple opinion about a product. I responded, and then a small little gang/club were just a-holes backing that person up. Later on I found some of these folks have met in real life, and consider themselves friends, so they are completely biased. They got each other's backs basically. Since then I've had a bit of a chip on my shoulder with some of my posting, which I should resolve. But others have commiserated in my PM's. I don't particularly care nor judge that this has evolved into a thread about more higher end gear than not, there is absolutely nothing wrong with discussing high-end gear, though I do see a variety of subjects in here sometimes, but in fact my post that started the animosity I got to be part of, was about a particular set of high end gear. The irony.

In other news I'm looking forward to auditioning the Pilgrim vs the Noir version, and also trying the Anni '23 one more time with lots of tips to see if I can find this mythical bass.

You might want to try 1 size down on the eartips for the Anni 23 it worked for me and for others I have read about here on Head fi . It really made a big difference for me . Hope this helps .

I just had my first taste of the CanJam and I am already eyeing a few gears. Maybe down the line will have to add them to the lineup.

1. Binary Audio Dyna Quattro: I just loved the warm, smooth, and captivating sound of this upcoming 4DD set.
2. Melodic Artification Alter Ego: The bass, textured bass on the Alter Ego takes one into an entirely different dimension of sound.
3. Madoo Type 512: I actually brought a set home after hearing it. I actually heard it 2 days prior to the event and had to get one because it sounded right up my alley.
4. I need to upgrade my source, DX260 and Questyle CMA18P needs to change maybe into N8ii or maybe into D16 and PB5 stack, something has to happen this year.

I actually liked this one. The bass on this can shake your soul through your ears, especially the sub-bass. Symphonium guys told me they have developed another variant of this for someone on his/her special request with more bass. I told them, I can't take anything more than this lol. Titan is my potential limit of bass i can enjoy. Good thing is i got a demo unit for a retailer in my country. So I will spend some more time with it now before finalising a review haha.
