Axpona 2024, first time, they have a dedicated headphone section (quite large)

Kind of cool they giving headphones a lot of love!

Absolutely love the Warwick all in one, convenient, sounds great.

A song I hear at a few different rooms that caught my attention was:

Layla (Arr. for
Guitar by Marcin)

^Check it out :)

I also hit the jackpot by waltzing into the Audio Technica show room (not the headphone section) and they had the narukami amp on display....just so happened the person who signed up at the time slot when I walked in did a no show.

Amp is amazing but for 108k, no shot but since supply is so limited, a few will inevitably bite. It was cool to try and am thankful for the opportunity.

I agree w/ you on Svanar... I had it for a brief second, and didn't really enjoy it very much. Like the Himalaya, I'd take the Shanling MG800 over the Svanar in a heartbeat....

I actually really like Svanar, just way overpriced and increasingly so with the likes of EA1000, Himalaya, Project M and I’m sure plenty more.

It’s funny thinking about other sets when I’ve honestly everything I could possibly want already at my disposal - each time I listen to Camelot for example I’m reminded of how it’s still my benchmark IEM - I’ve heard more impressive sets in various technical aspects, but the balance in Camelot has yet to be surpassed for me over a year later… can’t help but think of lyrics from the brilliant ‘Enjoy the Silence’ by Depeche Mode.

All I ever wanted

But of course the addiction is real and the hunt is often endless, moments like these however do remind me to fully enjoy and appreciate what I already have, and especially enjoy the music which is the whole point!

1AM2 on DAP duty tonight.

I don't have super detailed impressions of Ultron but here goes.

I demoed it with Alter Ego off a 320MAX. Compared to Alter Ego's stock cable, there are improvements to resolution, staging, and overall techs. It maintains Alter Ego's neutral warm tone from what I remember. It's less thick/warm toned than Thanos. I think its techs were roughly relative to Beat Audio's Cyclone 8W and Billow MKII 4W which are priced higher.

People have said that Ultron has some bass bloom and some unique coloration as well, so keep that in mind. Could be a good or a bad thing based on the pairing.

I think Ultron's techs are really good for the price. It's a solid cable overall. If you're thinking about buying it, I have no issue recommending it. This of course depends a little on what you're looking for specifically.
Fabulous. I was wondering about this exact pairing.

I wonder how Alter Ego would sound paired to a flagship cable. And if it scales with better sources and / or amp. Keen to have some fun with it.

I actually did exactly this with Alter Ego and the Beat Audio Orbit Saga 8W ($7.2k USD).

Immediately, the soundstage becomes immense and there are oodles of detail from everywhere. It’s one of the most impressive things I’ve ever heard.

I also tried the Beat Audio Cyclone 8W and Billow MK2 4W, and there was a small technical jump between those. There was a much larger leap from Billow MK2 to Orbit Saga 8W.

I've the same pairing of 1AM2 with Camelot. I use the Eletech Illiad cable on it. The bass is so tastefully done and the timbre is gorgeous. Camelot is definitely an iem that deserves to be listened to.

Sony 1AM2 is another that flies under the radar. Even without taking the price into consideration, the audio quality is impressive. And at the price it retails at, it is a tremendous value.

Ah gotcha... didn't mean to imply you didn't like it. Sorry 'bout that! I guess I experienced what you described, from the beginning of owning it... it just left me a bit cold in the company of a less expensive IEM that I liked more.

Wow, that sounds terrific! So many details and bass as well. Thanks for recommending it.

XE6, its tad bit more exciting and interesting, though its an arguably weirdly tuned specialist. While nicely balanced without any major downsides RN6 felt rather boring me, the magic wasnt there to my ear, there are much more exciting allrounders outthere imho.

Which would y’all rather own XE6 or RN6
If it’s one IEM only then RN6 but if it’s for a collection then XE6.

This +1

Was enjoying a late night XE6 + OTL + NE30LE sesh with new AZLA Origins, my favorite new ALZA eartips, accompanied with Karuizawa 34 Ruby Geisha Cask #3668 – pure analog bliss. Owning both, there's nothing quite like my FiR bae, XE6.
