At last, Project #2 is upon us.

And it marks a few numbers I ought to be proud of since they are marking new chapters for me - 800th post, 6500+ likes, and 365 days on Head-fi. Surreal yet so fulfilling.

Project #2 was delayed for a couple of reasons, mainly I felt it was better not to rush and be unhappy with the result. It truly tests me, since it showcases basically whole of my chest voice vocal range as well as putting me in front of the camera in a more direct way which forces me out of my comfort zone. Huge thanks to all four other participants, two of which you will see participate in this video too.

Enormously thankful to anyone who supports me here on Head-fi, on Youtube, and in real life! I could not have done it without you.

Song is called Samo edini (The Only One) by the most famous slovenian rock band, Siddharta. I welcome you to read the English translation of the lyrics below.

I know I'm not the first who cannot
Step on the wild top of the world
And I won't be the last
To see you in my dreams

How many breathed air before me
And to how many
the most beautiful child is born
How many more are still to come into this lineage

But I'm the only one
Who carries our blood
I'm the only one
Who soothes your cry

I'm the only one
Who does not exist
Does not exist without your world

I know I'm not the first who cannot sleep
From all punches and worries
And I won't be the last
Once not to wake up

To others I showed my smile
Others saw tears on the ground
Others gnawed the skin off me
Again and again

But I'm the only one
That licks blood from your wound
I am the only one to calm your cries

And solely the only one
Who does not exist
Does not exist without your world

And there is more and more hope in this world
I heard you wanted to live with me
And with that, give this single life for me

That's why today it's me
who inhales the air
Today the most beautiful child is mine
And today I fall asleep because tomorrow
I wake up with you

Lovely! Thanks for sharing and subscribed to your channel!

I have a FiiO FA19 unit inbound for review - their latest flagship 10x BA which retails for $999. This was well received at CanJam Singapore, and discussed / highly praised in the IEM segment (FA19 is at around 1 hour 36 mins) with @jude in the below.

Along with my love for DDs, I’ve had a great appreciation for all BA sets too, notably the IER-M9 and DUNU SA6 OG and MKII, very curious how FA19 will compare and intrigued to hear how the vented sub-woofers perform.

I'm really curious how more recent TOTL 10BA IEM's stack up against the Anole VX (which are STILL $2500!).

They still sound like magic to me, to the point I can forgive the all BA bass (a pet peeve) - which in fairness sounds totally fine unless I start listening to drum n bass (the UK centric electronic music that I grew up with & still love after 30 years).

What’s your IEM of choice for DnB? - big fan too, especially from the 90s… the Logical Progression CD being my start point and one I still love to revisit. I would tend to reach for the mighty IE900 or Camelot when hitting those sections of my library!

I primarily listen to dnb and I found the star for it - Grand Maestro. For my taste perfect sub to mid bass slope on the blue module and sometimes I like to push it more with black module. I expected the Maestro SE to be good for electronics but I think it is too V shaped for my taste.

The Fatfreq Maestro SE is absolutely superb (the best FF IMO, even better than the GM), but can get fatiguing for longer listening sessions; it's really bulky, the nozzles are wide & will eventually cause discomfort for most & the bass is seismic (meaning you can feel it)... but it's $2000 USD++

Bizarrely the out of the box tuning on these is relatively light on sub - I have to near enough max out the sub using the DSP on my Mojo 2.

That said - you don't need to spend 2k to get an excellent pair for dnb. I bought a cheaper pair for out & about - the $399 Thieaudio Hype 4 & even out of the box, the sub is impressive with the 2 x DD... there's also plenty of room to push the bass up without compromise on the Mojo 2 DSP. These don't have that seismic bass, but it's very deep & smooth, and great for long listening sessions... these have become my most used day to day paid for dnb.

The thing with D&B (and any club centric electronic music) is that fancy IEMs with excellent spatial audio & imaging are completely & utterly redundant. The vast, vast majority of D&B (and of electronic club centric music) is made two dimensionally, in a sense that any spatial audio would be wasted.
