Tube Amp Reccomendations for HE-500s and DT-880s

After doing some research I read that the WA2 would also be a good match for the headphones mentioned. How does that compare to the WA6-SE?

I've heard a WA2 run out of power (clipping) with HE-500. I wouldn't go OTL with planars.

with the exception of the LF 339 which seems to be a favorite with HE-500

I don't get why the 339 would be a good fit for the he-500. You all talk about high power requirements then suggest an OTL tube amp that outputs .5W high voltage/low current? Makes no sense. Please explain?

Little Dot MK VI+ has a ridiculous amount of output power. I'm looking into getting that amp with the HE-500 and a balanced cable soon!

High voltage, low current is for high impedance headphones (HD600/650, DT880).

The HE-500 demands more current than voltage since it is low impedance, OTL amps are NOT for orthodynamic headphones.

The Beta22 is a perfect example of an amp designed for demanding orthodynamic headphones. The Schiit Lyr also outputs a lot of current but has a tube preamp stage for a nice warm sound.
