After much poring the subject, this is my first post here.
I'm on the market to complement/replace/enlarge my Grado RS1.
I mainly listen to :
- 1955/1965 jazz
- contemporary music (Ligeti to Morton Feldman), very demanding tones
- vocal music (from Monteverdi to Sinatra)

Which would be best : Ultrasone Edition 10 (with modified cabling done by a pro
neaby my hometown, with Synergy HD800 and Jena Labs HD 800

or

Audez'e LCD 3

Thank you for your kind advice

I don't know yet.
Building from scratch.
Main system are Pre & Amp customs made by Cochet (french genius engineer working for Deutsche Grammophon)
plus Klipschorn also improved by the same Cochet.

If you're comparing between the ED10 and LCD3, its a no brainer. Get the LCD3.

Based on your listening preferences, I probably wouldn't recommend either of them as an "only headphone." I personally don't think the LCD-3's tonality is right for classical. For $2k, I'd get an HE-6 for classical (if you have an amp to drive them, or HE-500 or T1 if you don't) and the LCD-2 for jazz.

I would agree with the LCD2 for Jazz though to be honest I have not heard the other two so cannot comment. Listening to Art Pepper meets the rhythm section as I type and it is intoxicating!

I'm with you here, but I already have my RS1 which I grew to like very much with the years.
What is so bad with the Ultrasone ?
