Looking for superfast (transients) snappy open performance at low volumes on a iphone / htc desire. (sometimes that quality can be found with cheap headphones, while missing some other highend targets)
 
Which sub 150 earbud or iem execells at ultimate low volume speed with balanced highs(prefered on the hot side) and lows. dont care for lowest bass but midbass shall be really fast. dont care for soundstaging, natural tone and high volume performance.
 
 
Which iem or bud is volume speed king ? ADDIEM or PFE or YUIN PK3 or ???
(included mic would be nice)
 
are earbuds with larger drivers better for that purpose ?

didnt like sf5 vi - my first iems ... missed openness and image density
 
i have got the feeling that iem-drivers are just too small to generate nice timbre.

If you want yuin, you should go for something from the OK rather than pk series

Have you looked at the reviews of Fischer DBA-02's? They get very positive comments regarding timbre, speed (quick response), and general balance and neutrality. Here's a very long thread about them, including lots of comments about competing IEMs that would also be worthy of consideration.
 
Two (very minor) points against the DBA-02: The next batch won't be available for another few weeks, and they exceed your "sub-150" budget by $10.
 
Your comment about IEM drivers being "just too small to generate nice timbre" might apply to some (not all) less expensive dynamic driver IEMs, but the new range of balanced armature IEMs and better dynamic IEMs, like the HJE900 and variations of Monster Turbine Pros, seem to be blurring the distinctions between the two types.

by various posts  ath cm700ti & akg k319 are the fastest buds with the best instrument separation
 
do the smaller addiem or pfe have the same transient attack and image density ?
