Hi there peeps. First off, I'm still very new to this improving the sound thing and could do with some advice. Right now I'm using sennheiser hd555 and a fiio e17 to play tunes from my iTunes in mostly lossless. Generally a bit if everything from rock to hip hop to classical to ambient to dance to jazz. Right? Priority would mos def be jazz and classical on the modern side as well, so there's a bit of electronic too. Nothing too bass heavy.
I was browsing the interwebs the other day and noticed akg k701s on amazon UK for £165. I thought that was rather good (is that?). I know the RRP and actual street price can vary wildly. But before I shelled out some cash I pondered again whether the money would be better spent elsewhere. On a fiio e09k for example.
I currently like the clarity and soundstage that the hd555s provide and what's think is a rather uncoloured sound. Oh and I did that mod where you take the foam out of the cans as well.
What would any of you chaps or chapettes recommend as a next step?
