Dear Headphone-maniacs
 
i am planning to upgrade my sennheiser hd 598 to hd 650, because after some 15 minutes or so i suffer from listening fatigue due to, i think, problems with high treble and have to stop listening
 
I use my iphone 4 and a fostex Hp-p1 as components and listen to apple lossless formatted modern jazz music. Especially female voices and brass tend to mar my listening experience as they shriek in my head.
 
Would a sennheiser hd 650 be a viable solution or are there other alternatives? i am looking for a smooth sound with a rich but defined bass and (maybe inaccurate) easy to listen to highs...i hope you get my taste

The HD650 are hard to drive headphones, probably you wont be getting their full potential with a portable. The HD600 are more forgiving on this aspect, and not bright like the 598.
