Hello, I have been using cables and adapters that have a Pentaconn 4.4 connector and that are generic created by other companies.

I am using it with my WM1A/Z and other Dac equipment that I have had for a few years.

But I don't know if it would be harmful if I use them frequently, could the contacts of the equipment be damaged?

I had heard a long time ago that they said that using generic Pentaconn 4.4 connectors would damage the internal input of the equipment, due to physical incompatibility, causing electrical signals to be sent to the wrong places, but I'm not sure if they are true?

What opinions do you have?

The connector is not the problem as in the balanced iem cables.

Adapting 4.4 balanced male to 3.5 unbalanced female can short the amp on the pentaconn side, afaik.
