Could you please try to get to listen to the first gen and let us know the differences? Do make sure that both were burnt-in, as the sounds is very different.

I have only the second generation Vpulse. As I mentioned earlier here, the highs are bit harsh and painful to my ears sometimes.
If you are looking for a bass heavy IEM, I highly recommend Hippo VB.
