Very old dt880. What do you think about it?

They look too big to be worn comfortably. I'd pass on this one.

I think it looks horribly big and totally useless.

Id have to disagree. Propably attracted lots of people to that location and might have been a great marketing prop. I think this post was just meant to get a laugh though

They are great headphones. Fantastic all-rounder one that does everything great. They sound neutral.

I have one of those vintage DT880.
Great sounding, but they need a lot of damping on the drivers.
I used several layers of felt to reduce the sharpness.
The stock earpads were worn out, so I use Beyer leather earpads instead.
I really enjoy them.

The original from 80 is a masterpiece compared to the later ones.. That what I gathered from the various comparisons. I would still like one if the headband and elastics are still in great shape. With Beyers, older models are better.. DT48/DT880/DT990. Ofcourse, the T1 is a exception.

I use several layers of veal to dampen mine.
