I've never tried yet but I found a review of DX700 on web-magazine.

In short, DX700 shares the same nice wooden resonance and comfort with the big brother DX1000.
However, DX700 exhibits some different sound signature to DX1000. DX700 is more clear and the bass response is tighter, while DX1000 has huge but a bit bloated bass. DX700 is a good match to Rock music too.
So he wrote the decision for the two brothers is a matter of personal preference.

What is the predicted price for this awesomeness? Need an alternative to the bloat bass Denon's, without the Markl fill it with crud mod!

The estimated street price of DX700 is 65000 yen.
FYI, the price of DX1000 at Amazon.jp is 89000 yen now.
DX700 could be a good alternative but not so sure at this moment.. need audition.
