Has anyone tried viva’s direct input as power amplifier?

I've tried it, but you need a hotter signal than my DAC would provide to get the most from it, so I don't really have a conclusion.

845’s are the bulk of the cost, your looking at probably $1800 for a pair of Elrogs, that really are worth the investment.
I probably have <$400 in the rest of my tubes.
Still cheaper to fill out with tubes than my DAC.

Yes indeed. Our Lampi DAC's love expensive tubes and adapters.. and grounding wire! Try feeding two of them, even worse

It’s a point to point wired mess.
there‘s at least one image floating around.
point to point is hard to do tidy, the VIva’s 3 stages and internal layout don’t make it any tidier.

I want to say that it is incredible amp. With endless improvement options. I was very exited the difference that I've got after changing all the tubes. Then when I try to add very expensive, but "magic" interconnect cable. Now I've tried the same level power cable and must to say that I'm was blowing away. Never had have so dramatical change with power cable. Stealth Cloud Grande

I definitely would like to see it. Ampsandsound, shindo, audionote seem to do pretty need point to point builds. Not saying it has to be neat to be good but interested to see what it looks like.

Looks like a Matchless guitar amp. Generally PTP discrete is easier to service than surface mount/PCB.
