As the title states I need some warm sounding headphones that present the vocals and instruments boldly with good mids and decent bass. I need them for when I recieve the mix dowins on songs I've recorded to give proper feedback to the engineer. I sing soul, folk, reggae, and hip hop.
I was considering the sen hd 598 but I hear they are laid back. I will only be using a fiio 11 amp. My budget is 250 because i will be purchasing the Beyer COP's so I know what Mainstream listeners will hear.
Id prefer to buy the Grado sr125i cans but am scared they won't do as well as the 225i.

Im definitely a novice that's hoping to be blown away.

ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS UNDER 250?(i wish the HifiMan 400's cost less.

For vocals in the sub-$300 price range, it doesn't get much better than AKG's K271s. They don't have huge amounts of bass, but more than most other vocal-focused headphones I've owned.

Nice. Over your budget, but the HE-500 would have been perfect IMO.
