Is it okay to ask for a bit of advice here? Hope so, otherwise let me know and I'll remove the post again.

I've had a Seiko watch for the past 22 years, and I've been gifted a new watch for me recent 40th birthday.
I'm considering going with a Tissot, but I'm not sure if this is a good brand to go with? I just want something that is offering decent value for what I pay and I do like some of Tissot models.
Any other brands that offer what I'm looking for, that I should consider?
I'm looking for a cheap watch compared to what is being shown in this thread, the budget is $500-1000us.

Thanks 🙏

Hi,I suggest you spend some time going through various threads on "watchuseek.com"...Start with 3 sub forums:
Public Forum
Dive Watch Forum &
The Affordables Forum......
Get a feel for whats available, look at the Daily WAUW(What Are You Wearing)posts..If it tells time & fits on a wrist you WILL see it there...Also figure out what size watch works best for your wrist..You don't want to buy a 45mm Diver if you have a 6"wrist...Good luck & enjoy the hunt...

Great input, already found a lot to look at and have learned a thing or two.
Appreciate the response 👍

IWC is one of my favorite brands. Beautiful watch! I like utilitarian watches over something bling bling. The IWC Professional pilots watch with my Dad's old fighter squadron, VF-124, would be my preference over anything else.

I would take one of these too. I can't seem to find a Gunfighters watch from IWC......

Tissot, Longines are great value brands. I wouldn't rule out another Seiko, say an Alpinist or other models.

Tissot makes nice watches. They are an excellent choice. A few other options are Oris and Hamilton. I just purchased a new Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot Timer GMT within your price range. I also own a Hamilton X-wind that in that price range. Very nice watches and a step up from a lot of other brands in the range.

You didn't mention what type of watch you're looking for. Do you like divers, pilot's, dress, ect ..

Thank you both for the input, I'm sorry it took so long to respond, but I've been waiting for my new watch to arrive 😁

I quickly found out that most watches are simply too large for my skinny wrist, so I had to look for smaller ones.
And Tissot seemed like a safe bet, and when I saw this one, I was very certain it was the right choice. Now that it's here, I absolutely love it, to the point where I'm almost afraid to use it 🤣
Again, thanks to those of you who had feedback for me, that was really helpful 👍

No real pictures of it yet, only a couple of snapshots from its box.

Very simple but beautiful watch.... Breguet 5907. The 5907 was made with two movements: initially with the Cal. 510 and later with the Cal. 511. The differences between the two are the power reserve (~72h on the 510 and ~95h for the 511), beat frequency (28,800 VPH on 510 and 21,600 VPH on the 511).

There is not much information about the two movements online, Cal 510 seem to be a JLC movement, Cal 511 is an F. Piguet movement that has been used both by Breguet and Blancpain (both Swatch's brands). I am assuming this is a Cal 511 based on the beat frequency + saw the same movement on a Blancpain Villeret ...
