The Beatles Past Masters. 2009 re-issue
Great selection of tracks which weren't included on their original albums.
The Beatles were so prolific, they discarded songs which were better than many artists wrote in their whole careers!

Some of my favourites are B sides from singles.

'Rain'. B side to Paperback Writer. Brilliant bass playing and probably Ringo's best drumming:

'Don't Let Me Down'. B side to Get Back.

@Les Strat love the rooftop "Let It Be" concert :)
@Roy G. Biv Glad you enjoyed it
I think Macca wanted to get the band back on the road playing live again, but of course it never happened.
They were so prodigiously talented that they still have the power to amaze me, all these years on.
I am old enough to remember the original concert. It was on the roof of the Apple Records office building in Savile Row.
Their studio albums were so brilliant that some forget that the 'Fab Four' were a superb, live band, who had honed their craft over years in German clubs before making it big.
I have always loved Macca's bass playing ( and his voice).
I also love the fact that Lennon plays the lead guitar on Get Back! Not bad for the second guitarist!
Billy Preston's keyboards are really good too.
Here is the full concert. A slice of 1960s London..
It sends shivers down my spine watching it, as the Beatles were the soundtrack of my childhood in England.
Macca was just the epitome of cool in 1969.

@whirlwind Thanks
All the Zeppelin albums are special to me.
The day before Presence was released, a London radio station did an exclusive broadcast, which created great excitement
I bought it on release.
It is very much a 'Jimmy Page' , guitar-based album. Achille's last stand is fantastic!
'Tea for One' is also a gem and as you will know, Joe Bonamassa did a really good version of it.
