I keep discovering the songs this band put out and I'm blown away. Not just by how great they were; but at my ignorance that they performed the song. For example; I always thought that "Long Cool Woman (in a black dress)" was a Creedence Clearwater Revival song. Always thought Witchy Woman was by The Eagles. Thought He Ain't Heavy (He's my brother) was a Blood, Sweat and Tears song. I honestly don't know anymore which bands did the originals, but I'm probably gonna do some more research into this. In the meantime, I'm just gonna enjoy The Hollies. They are either just an exceptional cover band from the 70's; or the stuff they wrote has been covered by many others.
@Roy G. Biv I agree that Steven Wilson's remix of Aqualung is fantastic.
I owned the original vinyl and also one of the early CD releases; Steven Wilson's remix is, in my opinion, far better than either of those versions.
The other Tull remixes which I have listened to are also excellent. I think Steven Wilson has re-mixed 10 Tull albums!
I have listened to Stand Up, Benefit, Aqualung, Thick as a Brick and Minstrel in the Gallery as those are my favourites.
I will listen to Bonamassas's 'A New Day Now' this evening.
I notice it has a cover of Free's 'Walk in My Shadow' on it, which was on their 1969 debut album 'Tons of Sobs'
It's great that he has continued to 'carry the torch' for so many of my favourite guitarists from the late 60s and early 70s..
@Les Strat Paul Rodgers joined Bonamassa onstage at the Live From The Beacon concert for "Walk in My Shadow" and "Fire and Water". That was a great show (I wasn't there but I do have the BluRay)
