Cover art reminds me of seeing the street hawkers while visiting with my lovely sister in New York City early 1960's, being wowed, only then to be informed

Someone else posted that Dummy album recently. I also have it. Good album. Nice to see it getting some attention.
Yeah, it is a good album. I listen to it and to Portishead's other albums frequently. I love both Adrian Utley's guitar style and tone, and Beth Gibbons voice.

From Wikipedia, "Portishead's debut album, Dummy (1994), fused hip hop production with yearning vocals from Gibbons and an atmospheric, cinematic style reminiscent of spy film soundtracks. The album was met with commercial and critical acclaim, quickly becoming a landmark album in the emerging trip hop genre. However, the band disliked being associated with the term and would consciously step away from that sound on later releases.[10] Two other studio albums have been released: Portishead (1997) and Third (2008), both of which received similar acclaim. Portishead have also released the live album Roseland NYC Live (1998)."

"Sour Times" was the song that I always thought of when I thought of this album. In recent years, however, I think that my favorite song on "Dummy" is "Glorybox."

I have Dummy, Portishead, and Third. The "Portishead" album has the most songs I like, but my favorite song is Wondering Star off Dummy...

Spyro Gyra | Stories Without Words
Seems like you are spinning quite a bit of Spyro Gyra recently? :)
Yep, taking the week to review the entire catalog.
I stopped collecting them somewhere around 2009. Have lots of their stuff, some on vinyl including that "Stories Without Words" not shown here. This is from my entire CD collection ripped to my NAS...

Morning Dance and Catching the Sun where the first Spyro's I owned and thus are special to me. Still have the vinyl.
