@sygnus21 Now this is just an observation. I picked up on a theme here.
Never mind that, he misspelled Sultana
I'll send you a lollipop for your keen observation@sygnus21 Now this is just an observation. I picked up on a theme here.
Oh, BTW, I currently don't have a turntable. It's been packed away
I have that one. Been awhile since I heard it. Was released in 2011. Nice album though It's more an instrumental album (thus the title) of R&B / Hip-Hop tunes renamed. Example "Life's a Bitch" is really the Gap band's Yearning For Your Love, hook line in a constant loop. That's really the whole album...Just discovered this one, really grat if you are into Trip-hop/Nu-Jazz/Chill-hop.
Gap band's Yearning For Your Love...
Everything on that Will Sessions album is a renamed instrumental R&B/Hip-Hop tune. Still a nice album to have if that's your sort of thing. Were I a DJ today, I'd use it more for mixing purposes with old-skool stuff.
Where???Never mind that, he misspelled Sultana

Song composed by Miles Davis.
Song composed by Frank Loesser.
Song composed by Jimmy Van Heusen.
Song composed by John Coltrane.
Song composed by Ahmad Jamal.
Song composed by Dizzy Gillespie and Kenny Clarke.
Song composed by Duke Ellington.
Recorded in two sessions in May and Oct, 1956, and released as four albums
in 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1961. This was Miles' first quintet, the musicians are
John Coltrane (tenor), Red Garland (piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and Philly
Joe Jones (drums).
Edit: This music is a blast, most songs are covers remade in this band's style, soon
later Miles would start to compose his own music. These albums are remasters by
Rudy Van Gelder at 24/192 resolution on Qobuz ... the SQ is great. This quintet is
so tight they seem to be telekinetic. The tonality of the horns is beautiful and the
rhythm section is on task and inventive. That may sound like a cliche, but there is
great cohesion between the bass, piano and drums so vital for this kind of music.
Miles did a good job of choosing the musicians for this quintet! HD800 ~~~>

Just got my VMP Electric Miles Davis box set about an hour ago in the mail, and am currently running the LP's through my DeGritter and reading the enclosed booklet before starting on them later...
