What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Yeah, I love Kool & The Gang, notably their early stuff. This my collection....When I was in the record business back in the 70's, it seemed like we sold more Kool and the Gang albums and singles than any other group. All their singles were immense hits, and deservedly so....

I mostly listen to heavy stuff but occasionally, like a prehistoric tree sloth sometimes needed meat (saw a documentary on them once) I'll listen to pop songs like this,

The vocalist is Sara Serpa - she is a front soloist (via voice) on the album
Incredibly beautiful.
Not much of this music is available on YouTube, too bad. It's tremendous.
And the drummer - Tyshawn Sorey - is worth investigating - very interesting.
Modern jazz with the focus on Linda May Han Oh's bass playing. Thanks to
@earnmyturns for the idea. Also, an album by
Avishai Cohen on bass, for a comparison of styles.
One of Chick's most recognizable songs and superb with the orchestra.

I have the "The Glass Hours" and "Compassion" in my collection I've been lucky to hear both Han Oh and Sorey multiple times live. First time I heard Sorey was when he substituted for Marcus Gilmore at a San José gig by the original Vijay Iyer trio, and I've been following him since. My favorite Sorey appearances in my library, very different forms/styles below. He's also a stunning multi-instrument improviser and composer.

When I see 'Sloth', I immediately think of one of the greatest songs ever by Richard Thompson and Fairport Convention....
