They sound metallic, thin and really unnatural on every song I have listened to, only old songs and perfectly audiophile recordings (which I almost never come by because I listen to modern pop) sound good with them. My car speakers are supposed to be low fidelity, but they actually sound like music. The dt990 makes everything sound thin.

They have a very pronounced "U"curve overall.  So it makes a lot of solo instrumentation tonality sound thin and lacking body resonance ... IMHO.

I got a new job and I havent listened to my headphones for a few months. Now I put them on and I'm shocked how everything sounds unnatural. I'm using 320kbs from spotify and I hear no difference between that and flac.

I'd love for you to hear my DT990 that are used with good equipment and source material. They don't sound anything as you describe.

replace 990 pads with 770's and you'll get the sound you want.
