I produce electronic music.

Unfortunately, after 3 years of heavy use (travel), my M-100 broke...

They have gone from 200 euros in December 2022 to 250 euros in 2023...!

I really liked them but now I'm game for an upgrade.

For audio production, get the Sony MDR-V6 or MDR-7506 headphones (used on eBay).
Then spend the rest of your headphone budget for headphones for audio enjoyment.

Why not buy another M100 on the used market?

Maybe a direct upgrade could be the pioneer HDJ-X10 which seems to be a nice and very sturdy headphone.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't they lack a bit on bass both, especially the Classics?

The quality I value the most is a good bass resolution, tight and almost physical without being dark or masking the highs much. V shaped so to speak, though not "vulgar".

EDM would be what I listen to the most.

99s definitely have bass. Some say too much, but I disagree if used with the smaller pad option. If you're after bass resolution and layering, you will need to raise your budget a little. Perg you can find a discounted Ibasso SR2, now that the SR3 has been released. Best headphones I've personally heard for the asking price. Both the sub and mid bass are great in just about every way.

Don't discount the denon ah d5200 and the beyer dt700 pro x.
Both these headphones appear to have fallen off the radar but are solid contenders.
